Within the framework of the Port Revitalization, which is reflected in the new revitalization policy, the Mongolian Railways JSC is comprehensively implementing the construction works of the railway project. By Government Resolution No. 446, the right to implement the Shiveekhuren-Sehee, Bichigt-Zuunkhatavch Port Cross-Border Railway Project was granted to the Mongolian Railways JSC. "On some measures to be taken regarding the Shiveekhuren Sehe Border Crossing Railway" within the framework of the state policies of the two countries to organize the road relations between Mongolia and the People's Republic of China in a mutually beneficial and rational manner and to expand the activities of the border crossing by increasing the railway transportation capacity of mining products. According to the Government Resolution No. 232 dated August 1, 2018, it was decided to establish “Shiveekhuren Railway” LLC with the Mongolian Railway Public Limited Company holding at least fifty-one shares and to start construction work. At the Government meeting on May 17, 2023  the special license for the construction of the Shiveekhuren-Sekhe railway infrastructure has been granted to the “Nariinsukhait Railway” company. Thus, on this day, a historic event is taking place, which marks the beginning of the work on the Shiveekhuren-Sekhe port cross-border railway project. The main track length of the Shiveekhuren-Sekhe port cross-border railway will be 7.7 km, the total length will be 19.3 km, and it will have 1 station, 2nd class, It is planned to build a narrow gauge railway. As part of the preparatory work for the construction of the railway, the Mongolian Railway Corporation has completed the engineering-geodesy, engineering-geological, geotechnical, and hydrological research necessary for the construction of the Shiveekhuren-Sekhee port railway. The detailed design of the port railway is being developed by the China's CRDC Corporation” and the “Mongolian Railway” SOE developed the feasibility study and discussed it at the Science and Technology Council of the Ministry of Transport and Communications on the 19th of this month, and are implementing the work in accordance with the recommendations.
